Both the sb5100 and sb5101 are great modems, but they both offer different things. They however both share the same processor speed of 200Mhz and both share the same speed in memory. If you've experienced signal issues in the past we recommend the sb5101 since it has a stronger coaxial tuner. If signal is no issue to you then go with the sb5100, as both modems are identical in hardware and offer the same capabilities being both docsis 1.0 through docsis 2.0 compliant. |

SBH Haxorware (by rajkosto) is the first real hacked firmware for the 5101, and probably the best firmware ever for ANY modem. It is based on Motorola 5101 factory diagnostic shelled firmware. It does not have the torrent crashing problem that has been a problem with Sigma-X2. Haxorware also has the most advanced features of any current firmware. The web interface is clean and easy-to-use, and the web shell works flawlessly. New versions of the firmware can be easily upgraded via the web interface. This firmware is also known to work on many other modems with the Broadcom bcm3349 processor including the Ambit U10C018, RCA DCM425, and SA DPC2100R2.
SOME OF THE ADVANCED FEATURES IN BUILD 1.1:
self serve config file
tftp over ethernet
tftp-enforce bypass
skipped modem config checks
telnet daemon
integrated web shell
tftp client
easy web interface
customizable snmp ports
spoof vendor, model, and firmware version
static hfc ip support
backup/restore nonvol & full flash
upgrade firmware via webif
If you are not computer-literate or familiar with how cable modems work, this product is not for you. These modems are compatible with all US, Canadian, and South American DOCSIS cable networks. International 110/230v switching power supplies are provided to inter
The SB5101 firmware project was started in early 2008 by bitemytaco and devDelay from SBHacker. Haxorware was developed by Rajkosto and in a few short months the first beta was released. Bitemytaco provided the development funding, hardware, and firmware (from SB5101 and SB5102 orange factory diagnostic modems.) Haxorware was released for free to the public via the SBHacker forums – unlike TCNiSO, we chose not to charge for the firmware. Haxorware is now supported by donations to Rajkosto, reseller licenses, and additional funding from bitemytaco and SBHacker. The custom code in Haxorware is copyrighted by SBHacker and Rajkosto. The firmware will ALWAYS be a free download from Haxorware.com or Azlox.com and the SBHacker.net forums.
